Diabetes Tasmania has been hosting camps for over 20 years and during this period
hundreds of children have participated and benefited from these experiences.

Funding of Camps
The Camp Program is funded through a combination of some grant funding and fundraising
through philanthropic sources, major gift campaigns and Tax and Christmas Appeals.
To attend camp participants pay a co-payment as detailed below:
|Young Adult Retreat||$50|
For those in the community that are unable to fund this amount we try to secure funding
and if successful this can only be accessed once per child.
Diabetes Tasmania feels that there are families who would benefit from their child attending camp but are not able to due to financial barriers but feel uncomfortable asking for support. If additional funds were available, we could certainly promote to potential families that assistance is available.
